Job summary
Ampcus Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer 4 to service and repair laptops and desktops across Tucson, AZ. The role requires independent field work, extensive hardware troubleshooting, and traveling to client sites within the metro area.
The technician will diagnose issues, replace components, document activities, and maintain service records while meeting training and certification requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years hands-on laptop and desktop break/fix experience.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
- Experience replacing motherboards, LCDs, hard drives and components.
- Experience diagnosing Dell laptops/desktops.
- CompTIA A+ certification or willingness to obtain within required timeframe.
- Reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance.
- Willingness to travel 2–3 hours to customer locations.
- Able to complete service tickets using an iPhone.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair laptop/desktop hardware issues.
- Replace components such as motherboards, LCDs, hard drives.
- Perform complete unit replacements and peripherals troubleshooting.
- Provide onsite break/fix support at customer locations.
- Update and close service tickets in real time.
- Maintain accurate service records (time/location).
- Complete required product training and certifications.
