Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a technically skilled technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems across transmission and distribution networks.

The role requires diagnosing electrical issues, interpreting schematics, and coordinating repairs while ensuring safety and reliability of electrical systems. Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of relevant electrical experience OR associate’s degree + 2+ years OR bachelor’s degree + 1+ years.

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering; performs electrical tests and repairs to prevent/resolve faults in transmission and distribution equipment.
• Uses test equipment in energized electrical rooms, vaults, and substations to install, maintain, repair and program relays and related wiring.
• Interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation drawings; commissions new relay and metering installations.
• Coordinates testing, troubleshooting, and repairs with other department personnel.
• Performs protective relay testing, calibration, and programming for various manufacturers.
• Maintains detailed test reports and documentation for compliance and client review.
