Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a skilled field service professional to install, test, program and maintain protective relaying and metering systems for transmission and distribution operations in Charlotte, NC.

You will diagnose and repair equipment, interpret schematics, and ensure safety and reliability of electrical systems. Responsibilities include commissioning installations, coordinating with other teams, and providing mentorship to junior technicians while traveling as needed up to 50% of the

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant electrical experience OR associate’s degree with 4+ years OR bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of electrical experience.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–50% of the time.
Applicants must hold valid US work authorization.
NETA/NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering; performs electrical tests and repairs to maintain relays and equipment.
Uses test equipment in energized rooms, vaults, and substations to install, maintain, repair and program protective relays and wiring.
Interprets schematics, wiring diagrams and substation drawings; corrects drawings as needed.
Commissions new relay and metering installations and coordinates testing with other departments.
Maintains and tests relays and associated equipment and performs troubleshooting.
Performs emergency callouts and supports startup and commissioning.
Mentors junior technicians and participates in special projects as assigned.
