Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a field technician to install, test, program, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution operations.

You will diagnose issues, interpret schematics, and coordinate repairs to ensure reliability and safety of electrical networks. The role requires travel up to 75% domestically and internationally and involves working in industrial, data center, and utility environments with adherence to LOTO and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a high school diploma OR associate degree or bachelor’s degree in related field.
• NETA / NICET certification (preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical testing.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% - 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Program, install and maintain protective relaying and metering. Perform electrical tests and repairs on in-service relays.
• Coordinate testing, troubleshooting and repairs with other department personnel.
• Commission new relay and metering installations and test equipment.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and substation drawings for inspections and maintenance.
• Maintain detailed test reports and documentation for compliance and client review.
• Participate in emergency callouts and support startup of systems.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
