Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Remediation Intern to support field and office teams on world-class environmental projects. Based at an approved Jacobs location, you’ll assist with soil and groundwater sampling, remediation system maintenance, and data analysis while working with project managers, scientists, and engineers.

This internship requires pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Geology or Environmental Engineering, rising junior status, US citizenship, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• In pursuit of a Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or closely related field.
• Must be at least a rising Junior.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel.
• United States Citizenship
• Driver's License Required
• Ability to work from one of the approved Jacobs locations.
• Ideally, you’ll also have 3.0 GPA
• A previous internship related to your field of study
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
• Self-driven time management and organizational skills
• Ability to obtain 40-hour hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher class

Responsibilities

• Assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget.
• Plan and execute field activities including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and remediation system maintenance.
• Prepare scopes of work for subcontracts, conduct data analysis on field and laboratory data sets, and create technical reports documenting completed activities and results.
• Estimated time spent doing field work is approximately 85%, with some travel.
• Collaborate with team members within your assigned office when not traveling.
