Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Remediation Intern to support field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling and remediation maintenance. You will work with project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Based out of an approved Jacobs office location with hybrid work options. You will gain hands-on experience, travel for field work, and grow through continuous learning across environmental services.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field.
• Must be at least a rising Junior.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel.
• United States Citizenship.
• Driver's License Required.
• Ability to work from one of the approved Jacobs locations.
• 3.0 GPA (preferred).
• A previous internship related to your field of study (preferred).
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs.
• Self-driven time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain 40-hour hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher class.

Responsibilities

• Assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget.
• Plan and execute field activities including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and remediation system maintenance.
• Prepare scopes of work for subcontracts and conduct data analysis on field and laboratory data sets.
• Create technical reports documenting completed activities and results.
• Travel may be required; approximately 85% field work with some out-of-town travel.
• Collaborate with team members in assigned Jacobs locations.
