Job summary

BARNHART in Missouri is seeking a project manager to lead projects from award through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and client satisfaction. This is a hands-on, field-driven role—you will spend significant time on job sites working alongside crews, solving problems in real time, and staying close to the work.

As a project leader, you will oversee a team, participate in site visits, manage scope and contracts, and communicate status across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or sufficient experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering plans and specifications.
• Mechanically inclined with understanding of machinery and heavy construction.
• Basic math and geometry; strong planning and leadership skills.
• Understanding of construction contracts; time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, evaluation and improvement of project management team efficiency.
• Participate in site visits, proposals and contract development/reviews.
• Manage projects from sales through development into execution; document changes.
• Interact with customers, engineers, vendors and others during design and planning.
• Develop and maintain overall project schedule; identify and solve schedule risks.
• Communicate project status including schedule, budget and risk regularly.
• Coordinate crews and scheduling of equipment; travel as needed.
