Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Kansas, Olathe is seeking a Mobile Service Technician to maintain fleets and handle client service calls at customer locations. You will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and related equipment, while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 5 years’ Class 7 & 8 technician experience, and a valid CDL with Medical card.

Qualifications

5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.

Responsibilities

Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning and inspections.
Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle stocked.
Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
Read job orders and observe vehicle to plan work procedures.
Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform repair procedures.
Diagnose, remove and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, bearings, clutches, brakes, batteries and transmissions.
Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
Examine guards and safety devices; ensure compliance with specifications.
Document and submit paperwork or enter work into mobile service program.
Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
Advise on repairs to be performed within the next 3 months.
Participate in training and apply it on the job.
