Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Technician to perform field-based CQA services for landfill and landfill gas projects, ensuring construction activities meet design plans, drawings and specifications.

You will conduct daily site inspections, support maintenance and monitoring of landfill gas and remedial systems, travel extensively, and produce detailed daily reports and project documentation.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of technician experience in landfill gas CQA or liner CQA.
• At least 23 years of experience working on active construction sites or performing engineering field work.
• Hands-on experience with soil sampling and construction inspection activities.
• Experience performing field inspections on construction projects, ideally related to landfill or environmental systems.
• Ability to perform construction quality assurance tasks and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel for report writing, documentation, and data tracking.
• Capability to coordinate with contractors and subcontractors in the field and communicate clearly regarding project requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate daily written and photo log reports.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work extended schedules, including significant overtime.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and completing required safety training before working on landfill sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily site inspections at landfills and construction sites to verify compliance with design plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Provide oversight and inspection engineering management of landfill gas systems and landfill construction activities, including cell construction and closure, to ensure adherence to project requirements.
• Execute construction quality assurance (CQA) tasks, including verifying materials, installation methods, and workmanship against technical specifications and project drawings.
• Conduct landfill gas and remedial system maintenance and monitoring activities as needed to support safe and efficient operation.
• Coordinate effectively with general contractors and subcontractors to address field issues, clarify requirements, and maintain project schedules.
• Prepare and submit detailed daily written reports, including photo logs, documenting site conditions, work performed, and any non-conformances or corrective actions.
• Develop construction documentation reports as requested, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely project records.
• Assist in training engineering technicians, associate staff, and staff professionals in field activities, sharing best practices and supporting skill development.
• Support office operations when requested, including administrative tasks, data entry, and report preparation using Word and Excel.
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety training and onboarding activities prior to working on landfill sites.
• Travel extensively to regional landfill and construction sites, maintaining professionalism and reliability while working on extended rotations.
