Job summary

Civil and Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Naperville, IL, is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Technician to join our civil engineering practice.

This full-time role focuses on field oversight of landfill and CCR impoundment closure projects, with substantial time spent in the field and interface with clients and contractors. You will perform daily inspections, testing, sampling, and documentation, while collaborating with our technical team and documenting field activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of landfill CQA project experience including both soil liner construction and geomembrane liner installation
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
• CCR landfill and impoundment experience preferred
• Ability to speak and write professionally
• Highly motivated, self-starter with the desire to learn quickly and succeed professionally
• Willingness to travel through out midwest at extended periods of time

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance inspection at landfill and impoundment construction sites performing daily inspections, testing, and sampling duties and to monitor progress and ensure conformance with engineering plans, quality assurance plans specifications and construction and safety standards
• Completion of daily testing and survey activities
• Completion of appropriate paperwork, and preparation of field daily reports and database management
