Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Lead Construction Inspector / Coordinator to provide QA oversight on landfill construction projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. The role requires field observation, testing, and reporting, and serves as the lead CQC/CQA representative on site.

Travel is 100% with lodging provided; candidate should have 10+ years landfill experience and relevant certifications. This contract position offers opportunities to mentor technicians and coordinate with owners,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of landfill CQC/CQA experience.
• Experience with geosynthetic liner systems at landfills.
• Willingness to travel regionally; lodging provided.
• Ability to observe, document, and report construction activities.
• Lead CQC/CQA representative on project sites.
• Certified geosynthetic placement (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Observe construction activities and perform field testing of soils.
• Inspect geosynthetic liner installation and document results.
• Coordinate calibration of test equipment; assist in procedures.
• Prepare and update inspection reports and certification reports.
• Mentor other technicians and liaise with owners, contractors, and labs.
• Review project plans and specifications to ensure conformance.
