Job summary

Richard is a fast-growing general contractor seeking an Assistant Superintendent in Huntington, WV, to oversee daily site activities, manage field personnel, and ensure schedule and budget compliance. The role requires hands-on leadership and strict safety practices with proximity to the project site.

The ideal candidate has 0–3 years in general contracting, strong knowledge of construction methods, and ability to coordinate with home office, owners, and subs.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years’ experience with a general contracting company.
• A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam.
• Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, total project schedules, 3-week look-aheads, and other project documents.
• Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner, Subcontractors and experience running owner meetings.
• Availability to potentially work on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours.
• Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects.
• Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
• OSHA 30 Certified

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the day-to-day field operations.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts
• Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
• Monitor field productivity.
• Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Ensure timely and safe completion of project, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets
• Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety goals.
