Job summary

Richard Group is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily site construction activities and manage field personnel to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget in Beckley, WV. The role offers a housing allowance if relocation is needed and reports to the Project Manager.

The ideal candidate will ensure safety standards, coordinate with trade teams, and support growth within a collaborative, culture-first organization that values mentorship and on-site problem solving.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years' experience with a general contracting company.
• Understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
• Experience developing RFIs, potential change orders, schedules, and look-aheads.
• Clear communication with home office, Owner, Subcontractors.
• Willingness to work shifts for hospital construction.
• Experience on Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or union projects.
• Pass background check and drug test.
• OSHA 30 certified.
• Desire to grow with mentoring and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day field operations and supervision.
• Coordinate with project team to maintain schedule, safety, budget and quality.
• Plan and organize work to align with contract documents.
• Monitor field productivity and progress.
• Maintain documentation: RFI logs, change orders, submittals.
• Maintain customer relationships and communication with stakeholders.
• Ensure timely and safe project completion per budgets and documents.
• Coordinate with Safety Manager to meet safety goals.
