Job summary

S&ME, Inc. seeks a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to work onsite on active construction sites and labs. You’ll perform field and lab testing, collect and prep samples, interpret data, and report findings to support safe, high-quality projects.

You'll join a team that values safety, integrity, and teamwork, with hands-on training and clear pathways to advancement in a 100% employee-owned firm. This is a full-time, onsite role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I or ICC Special Inspector preferred.
• Strong English communication, basic math, and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Field and lab testing on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
• Interpreting test results and preparing detailed reports.
• Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
