Job summary

S&ME is hiring a Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on testing soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials, primarily outdoors, with opportunities for industry certifications and professional growth.

You will contribute to project documentation, data management, and coordination with stakeholders while supporting safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I, Strength Testing Technician, Laboratory Technician; ICC Special Inspector; DOT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Project and document analysis of field tests and observations for soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials.
• Use Metafield Application to manage field and lab data.
• Maintain field and laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Monitor inspections per IBC guidelines for construction materials.
• Communicate with supervisors, contractors, and clients about project status.
