Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Atlanta, Georgia. This outdoor role focuses on testing soil, concrete, asphalt, and related materials, with opportunities to gain industry certifications and advance professionally.

The candidate will document observations, handle data in Metafield and field/lab systems, and perform equipment maintenance while adhering to IBC guidelines. Travel and varying hours are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of construction testing/inspections experience.
• Active industry certifications: ACI Field Testing Grade I, ICC Special Inspector, DOT certifications.
• Strong English communication and math skills.
• Willing to travel and adapt to a fluctuating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Project and document analysis: observe and record test results for soil, concrete, asphalt, and related materials.
• Metafield data handling: manage field and lab information systems for data integrity.
• Equipment maintenance: ensure field/lab equipment is calibrated and compliant.
• Special inspection monitoring: follow IBC guidelines for testing and inspecting materials.
• Stakeholder interaction: report project status to supervisors, contractors, and clients.
