Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Atlanta, GA. The role involves outdoor field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and related materials, with documentable observations and test results to ensure project integrity.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience, active certifications (ACI, ICC, DOT), and strong communication skills in English. The position offers full-time employment with opportunities for growth and travel as project needs arise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• Strong communication skills in English; able to document observations clearly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Document project observations and test results for soil, concrete, asphalt, and related materials.
• Use Metafield® or similar field/lab data systems to manage information.
• Maintain field and lab equipment for accuracy and calibration.
• Perform Special Inspection Monitoring per IBC guidelines for materials testing.
• Interact with supervisors, contractors, and clients to report status and address issues.
