Job summary

S&ME in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to perform outdoor materials testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and related materials. You will document observations, run tests, and ensure project integrity under varying field conditions.

You will gain industry certifications, work with Metafield data systems, and collaborate with engineers and project teams on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; strong math and reading skills.
• 2+ years in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, or asphalt.
• Ability to travel and work outdoor/field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications and document observations and test results for soil, concrete, asphalt and related materials.
• Use Metafield data systems to manage field and lab information.
• Maintain field/lab equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Perform Special Inspection monitoring following IBC guidelines.
• Communicate project status with supervisors, contractors, and clients.
