Job summary

STV Incorporated in Wilmington, NC is seeking Construction Inspectors to support our Transportation division. The successful candidates will inspect highway and bridge projects, enforce safety and quality, and work with staff statewide.

Applicants must have at least five years of inspection experience, hold or be able to acquire NCDOT certifications within six months, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel to sites, sometimes nights/weekends, in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience.
• Ability to obtain NCDOT certifications within 6 months.
• Valid state driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel to project sites daily.
• Must lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection activities and assist in the administration of highway and bridge construction projects.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and perform on-site material testing.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications; communicate with project staff and clients.
• Travel to project sites, often at night or on weekends as required.
