Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking Construction Inspector Trainees in the Wilmington, NC area to support field teams on highway and bridge projects. You will learn construction inspection and material testing while developing certifications and gaining practical field experience with a top ENR-ranked firm.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with project staff and clients, with travel to project sites as required and potential night/weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A willingness to obtain listed NCDOT certifications within 6 months.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements including lifting 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection activities and assist in highway and bridge projects.
• Apply safety philosophy and work safely outdoors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specs.
• Establish engineering controls for inspection work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform on-site material testing and sampling.
• Measure and document completed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Communicate with project staff and clients.
