Job summary

MCHAP is seeking a Part-Time Chaplain to serve employees and their families remotely, with on-site visits to Richmond-area worksites as needed. The Chaplain will provide pastoral care, confidential counseling, and assist with funerals and grief support, while coordinating referrals for additional resources.

The role requires spiritual maturity, interfaith respect, and strong communication skills. Regular travel to client sites and participation in orientation are expected, with flexible hours

Qualifications

• Must work well in an interdisciplinary, interfaith setting.
• Ability to listen, communicate clearly, and present to groups.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse lifestyles and values.
• Experience providing confidential pastoral discussions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with documentation skills.
• Capable of handling stressful situations with calm and discretion.
• Familiarity with Google Suites and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Visit company worksites regularly to build trust and ministry.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions for employees and families.
• Assist with funerals and grief support for affected employees.
• Coordinate referrals for specialized employee needs.
• Support new employee orientation with the Employee Care Service.
• Respond to leadership requests within the agreed scope of the role.
