Job summary

MCHAP Chaplains is seeking a part-time chaplain to serve employees and their families remotely, with on-site visits as needed in NC. The role focuses on spiritual care, crisis support, and coordination of resources within a Christian ministry framework.

Responsibilities include weekly visits to worksites, confidential discussions, and coordinating referrals, while supporting families through bereavement and life challenges in a compassionate, interfaith setting.

Qualifications

• Is able to work in an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting.
• Skilled at listening and interacting with clients, employees, and families; able to deliver presentations.
• Demonstrates Christian lifestyle and ministry values.
• Able to cope with stress and document accurately.
• Excellent oral and written communication with leadership and staff.
• Proficient with Google Suites and MS Office; learns new software quickly.
• Must have an active state driver’s license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Visits company worksites on a weekly basis to interact with employees.
• Provides confidential pastoral discussions for personal issues.
• Coordinates referrals for specialized assistance for employees and families.
• May assist in planning or attending funerals and provide grief support.
• Notifies families and colleagues of deaths or serious injuries.
• Offers post-termination care to ease transitions for laid-off employees.
• Represents ministry services to employees and families during critical events.
