Job summary

MCHAP Cambridge, OH is seeking a Part-Time Chaplain to support employees and their families with spiritual care at client sites. The role emphasizes compassionate presence, confidential conversations, and coordination of resources across healthcare, funeral, and community organizations.

The Chaplain will visit worksites regularly, provide guidance during personal crises, and assist with memorials or grief support while upholding Christian values and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary, interfaith team.
• Strong listening and communication skills for clients and families.
• Confidential pastoral discussions and referrals provided with discretion.
• Christian faith commitment aligned with MCHAPs ministry values.
• Diplomacy, patience and courtesy in diverse interactions.
• Strong written communication and emotional stability for distressing events.
• Computer proficiency with common office software and web apps.
• Valid state driver’s license and auto insurance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Regularly visits company worksites to build trust and relationships.
• Provide confidential pastoral support at hospitals, nursing homes, or residences.
• Coordinate referrals and discuss personal issues privately with employees.
• Plan or attend funerals and provide grief support to families.
• Notify and support families after deaths or serious injuries.
• Assist in post-employment transitions as needed.
• Support spiritual enrichment activities when appropriate.
• Provide literature and resources for life issues.
• Represent chaplain services to clients and assist in new employee orientation.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director of Operations on duties per agreement.
