Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking an on-site Inspector to perform complex and routine construction inspections at project sites across multiple locations. You will evaluate materials, methods, and compliance with plans and specifications, reading drawings and documenting findings for supervision.

This field position requires knowledge of highway construction, the ability to read plans, and the capability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity such as ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt and concrete if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and construction processes meet plans, specs, and provisions.
• Use advanced equipment and perform calculations for inspections.
• Work under limited or direct supervision depending on assignment.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor and relevant stakeholders.
