Job summary

CDM Smith’s CEI team seeks an inspector to monitor construction activities at project sites. The role covers roadway, bridges, drainage, and more, requiring complex inspections and plan interpretation. On-site work with varying supervision levels applies.

Location includes multiple project sites with 20–40% travel. You will document results, review drawings, and contribute to safety and quality on highway projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI/NICET certifications may be required by client/jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 6 years of related inspection experience is expected.
• Domestic/international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use advanced equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to experience for each assignment.
• Review drawings and prepare for construction inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
