Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector for the CEI team to conduct complex and routine construction inspections at project sites. The role requires knowledge of roadway, bridges, drainage, and maintenance/traffic along with the ability to read and explain construction plans and specifications.

You will work on-site at multiple locations across the US, with 20%–40% travel. A valid driver’s license and relevant certifications are required, and 6 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI may be required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel depends on duties and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Performing complex and routine inspections of construction to ensure materials and processes conform to plans and provisions.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision depending on assignment knowledge.
• Reviewing drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Documenting and communicating inspection results to supervisor.
