Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector to join the Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. You will inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layouts, and materials at project sites across multiple locations, under direct supervision by engineers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and at least two years of related experience. Certifications such as ACI or NICET are a plus, with travel requirements up to 40% depending on

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic/international travel may be required; frequency varies by project.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review day-to-day contractor work and accept/reject daily reports; verify QC procedures and material testing.
• Review material testing procedures and results for contract conformance; measure quantities and perform sampling/testing as needed.
