Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team in Rodanthe, NC is seeking an Inspector to monitor construction activities across roadway and bridge projects. The role requires reading plans, interpreting specs, and performing complex inspections under supervision. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and 4 years of related experience. Certification in earthwork, asphalt, or concrete may be required by the client or jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete may be required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 4 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to ensure correct materials and processes.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Understand the design of the construction to be inspected.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
