Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector to join our CEI team for highway construction projects across multiple locations. The role involves complex inspections, reading drawings, and documenting results to ensure conformance with plans and specs.

On-site work at locations like Pittsburgh, Lisle, Fairmont, Charleston, Knoxville, Nashville, and more, with travel up to 40% and a focus on safety, quality, and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt and concrete if required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Review drawings and prepare for inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
• Understand construction designs and explain contract provisions and drawings.
