Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector to perform field inspections of roadway, bridge, and transportation projects in Georgia, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.

The role supports project engineers and construction management through documentation and on-site oversight. Responsibilities include inspecting materials, foundations, and structural components, monitoring traffic and erosion controls, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 months to 3 years of progressive transportation technician or construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and contract requirements.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, structural steel, concrete placement, culverts, and backfill operations.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion and sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain accurate contract documentation and project records.
• Prepare reports and document project activities and findings.
