Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver to operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars across regions in the Eastern or Western US.

This field-based role requires extended travel (3–4 months at a time) and strict adherence to DOT/FRA safety regulations while supporting testing operations. The position demands endurance in varied weather and environments, performing inspections, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with railroad personnel and teammates in a fast-paced, safety-focused

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must meet the physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars on roads and tracks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance.
• Assist with rail flaw detection testing and data collection.
