Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver for a highly mobile field position across the Eastern/Western United States. You will operate hi-rail vehicles, support testing operations, and ensure DOT and safety compliance while traveling 3–4 months at a time.

The role emphasizes field work under varied conditions, with opportunities for hands-on equipment maintenance and data collection. Expect long travel, pay at $21.60 per hour, and payroll benefits tied to a global leader in rail diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate commercial hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars on roadways and tracks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT logs and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with rail flaw detection testing and data collection.
• Monitor data on onboard systems and perform ground-level inspections.
• Support maintenance of detectors and equipment and ensure safety practices.
