Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a Field Technical Product Support Technician to provide 24/7/365 support for the university’s copper cable plant. You will patch, install, test, and document cabling, coordinate access with customers, and maintain clean, organized workspaces.

May require knowledge of copper and fiber cabling terminology.

Responsibilities

Provide 24/7/365 support to the university copper cable plant.
Perform patching, installation, testing, and documentation of cables.
Coordinate with customers to identify work scope, materials, and access.
Enter time and materials into tracking tools; update work tickets.
Prepare verbal and written status reports to the copper supervisor and plant management.
Assist fiber team when needed and maintain a tidy work environment.
