Qualifications

• 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience
• Field Technical Product Support Technician II requires at least 1 year of related experience
• Field Technical Product Support Technician III requires 3+ years of related experience
• Field Technical Product Support Technician IV requires 5+ years of related experience

Responsibilities

• Ensures 24/7/365 support to the University copper cable plant
• Mentors level 1 technicians and student interns
• Must be able to distinguish cable jacket color differences
• Able to lift 80 pounds
• Maintain a valid Utah driver license
• Develops job material lists based on job scope
• Enters time and materials into tracking tools
• Monitors, responds to, and updates work order queues
• Provides hands-on help and support to university and contractor cable technicians
• Keeps communication closets and work environments tidy
• Keeps equipment and vehicles in safe working condition
• Use test equipment to provide test results and reports
• Maintain a professional appearance and dress
• Covers for the copper supervisor as needed
