Smart Start is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative to expand market presence by building relationships with influencers, government officials, and referral sources within Maryland. This is a field-based role with substantial travel and a focus on face-to-face selling.

The ideal candidate thrives in direct engagement, demonstrates industry knowledge, and works independently. Base pay ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 with performance-based incentive; remote with travel.

Qualifications

• Must reside in Maryland.
• Proven experience in sales or business development.
• Field-based role with 80% time in the field.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Experience with breath alcohol testing devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain in-person relationships with influencers in the territory.
• Generate new sales through proactive outreach and territory planning.
• Develop referral sources and expand product market share.
• Provide consultative support to government officials and partners.
• Attend industry events and stay current on state regulations.
