Smart Start, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative to expand our market presence in North Texas.

This primarily field-based role focuses on building in-person relationships with influencers, government officials, and referral sources to drive adoption of alcohol monitoring and ignition interlock products. The ideal candidate will thrive in face-to-face selling, possess strong relationship-building skills, and have experience in law enforcement or public-sector

Qualifications

• Familiarity with the criminal justice system and ability to interact credibly with law enforcement, court staff, attorneys, and other justice-system partners.
• Must reside in North Texas area.
• Proven sales or business development experience.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to demonstrate and utilize breath alcohol testing devices on a continual basis.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop, and maintain strong in-person relationships within the assigned territory.
• Generate new sales through proactive outreach, territory planning, and relationship cultivation.
• Expand product market share by identifying and developing new referral sources.
• Provide technical expertise and consultative support to government officials and referral partners.
• Educate partners on product functionality, reporting platforms, and compliance features.
• Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and state-level meetings related to alcohol monitoring and ignition interlock programs.
• Serve as a territory expert on state regulations and ignition interlock requirements.
• Develop and execute competitive sales strategies for local markets.
• Gather market intelligence to maintain competitive advantage.
