Job summary

Shearwater Aerospace is seeking a hands-on field-based business development professional to connect Smart Flight with defense UAV operators in the United States. You will travel to ranges, run meetings, and gather ground-truth feedback to shape product direction.

Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the CTO, you will build operator networks, conduct field evaluations, and document insights in a shared repository.

Qualifications

• Credibility with UAS operators, earned by direct mission planning or support experience.
• Proven ability to source and engage operators through warm intros, events, and networks.
• Strong organization skills for field data capture and post-conversation reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build a market map of defense UAS operators and programs with named individuals.
• Lead field engagements, running discovery conversations and product evaluations.
• Represent Shearwater at defense UAS events, ranges, and exercises; earn operator trust.
