Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring for a field-based HVAC/Controls technician to install building automation systems and direct digital controls at customer sites. You will interpret drawings, install conduit and wiring, prepare on-site preparations, and coordinate with trades to ensure smooth installation.

The role requires 2–5 years in HVAC/Controls, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. Expect regular travel and occasional overnight stays with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2–5 years HVAC/Controls experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; handheld devices.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel; DDC controls experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install building automation systems.
• Install temperature control systems: conduit, enclosures, wiring and end devices per drawings.
• Prepare for on-site installation by reviewing layout, anticipating issues, gathering materials and coordinating with trades.
• Maintain stock of inventory and document activities.
• Complete paperwork for each job including daily time, progress and duration; keep files.
• Submit all required paperwork and reports promptly.
• Serve as direct customer contact and service equipment on projects; diagnose and repair at customer sites while ensuring satisfaction.
• Stay current on Trane products related to direct digital control systems.
• Inspect vehicles and maintain service literature and supplies.
• Maintain tools and equipment; inspect for wear and tear.
• Enforce safety standards and manage company assets; track usage and condition.
• Travel regularly with occasional overnight stays; be flexible for overtime.
