Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based HVAC/Controls installer to install building automation systems at customer sites. You will read control drawings, prepare sites, coordinate with trades, and maintain inventory while ensuring quality service and safety.

You will document work, manage paperwork, and communicate with customers to diagnose and repair equipment and systems on location. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; typically 2–5 years HVAC/Controls experience.
• Technical School or formal training is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone/iPad).
• Knowledge of low voltage electricity, electronics, direct digital controls, and building control techniques.
• Participation in ABC electrical apprenticeship is desired.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with clean record.
• Previous experience with DDC controls system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install building automation systems using tools, interpreting drawings, plans and specs.
• Prepare for on-site installation by reviewing layout, coordinating with trades and gathering materials.
• Maintain inventory, company equipment, and document activities.
• Complete paperwork daily and submit reports on time.
• Serve as the direct customer contact and service equipment on projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Keep up-to-date on Trane products for direct digital control systems.
• Inspect and maintain company vehicles and tools; enforce safety standards.
