Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager – Transmission & Distribution to lead the execution of complex utility infrastructure projects in Wisconsin.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and client satisfaction across transmission, distribution, and substation work. This on-site role requires strong leadership, extensive experience in T&D construction, and travel to support long-term projects.

Qualifications

• 1–7+ years of experience in construction project management within transmission, distribution, utility, or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, and field execution.
• Strong knowledge of T&D construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Experience with project management/scheduling software (Primavera P6, HCSS, MS Project, or similar).
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel and support long-term onsite project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through estimating, bidding, execution, and closeout phases.
• Manage transmission, distribution, and substation construction activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, field leadership, and internal project teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client and utility relationships.
• Track and manage project costs, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Support project planning for transmission line construction, distribution system upgrades, and substation scopes.
• Promote and model Michels’ safety-first culture across all operations.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and operational feedback.
