Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to keep our Pasadena-area restaurants running safely and reliably. You will diagnose, repair, and restore HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and building systems while coordinating with restaurant leadership and vendors.

This role emphasizes responsive issue resolution and adherence to SLAs. Qualified candidates bring 1+ year experience with HVAC/refrigeration, EPA or CFC certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year field experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
• 1+ year experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment or equivalent technical education.
• EPA or CFC Certification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment systems.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, and intermediate electrical repairs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Whataburger MVR standards.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/roofs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, and beverage systems.
• Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance to restore equipment and facility functionality.
• Complete and document repairs per work order priorities and SLAs.
• Maintain inventory and service documentation; manage work orders and parts.
• Coordinate with restaurant leadership and vendors; supervise third‑party vendors when needed.
