Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and restore HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen systems across multiple restaurants in the region. You will support operations, complete work orders, and maintain inventory and documentation in company systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• 1+ year field experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
• 1+ year experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment or equivalent technical education.
• EPA or CFC Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment systems.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, and intermediate electrical repair knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet MVR standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and rooftops.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, and beverage systems.
• Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance to restore functionality.
• Complete and document repairs per work order priorities and SLAs.
• Coordinate with leadership and vendors on repair status and next steps.
• Travel to partner with Operations and support restaurants in field.
