Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Patient Access Liaison (PAL) to support patients, caregivers, and providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways for Amgen therapies.

In a field-based role, you will educate stakeholders, address prior authorization barriers, and collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, and Site of Care teams to ensure timely, sustained access to therapy for patients.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Master’s degree with 2 years of patient services and/or access and/or reimbursement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of patient services and/or access and/or reimbursement experience.
• Associate’s degree with 8 years of patient services and/or access and/or reimbursement experience.
• High school diploma / GED with 10 years of patient services and/or access and/or reimbursement experience.
• Level 6 qualifications include Doctorate + 2 years, or Master’s + 4 years, or Bachelor’s + 6 years in patient services/access/reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource on patient access and reimbursement for infused and specialty therapies.
• Assist patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance benefits, prior authorization requirements, and reimbursement processes.
• Support the identification and resolution of access challenges, including coverage questions, prior authorization barriers, and denied claims.
• Provide education regarding coding and billing considerations relevant to therapy access.
• Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, virtual, and in-person engagement.
• Educate physician offices and sites of care on therapy coverage pathways and reimbursement processes.
• Provide information regarding common prior authorization requirements, coding considerations, and billing practices.
• Escalate complex or systematic reimbursement issues to appropriate internal stakeholders.
