Job summary

Trane Technologies invites applications for a 12-week Controls Technician Intern program. The role supports project execution on-site at customer locations, alongside a Project Manager and engineering team to learn controls programming, material selection, and startup activities on active construction sites.

You will gain hands-on experience in graphic programming, configuring Trane controllers, and coordinating with electrical subcontractors while communicating with contractors and owners about

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree. Strongly preferred in Building Automation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Building Management, Construction Management, or equivalent degree.
• Knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
• Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Some positions may be remote while others may require a hybrid or onsite assignment at one of our facilities across North America.
• Possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, ability to provide proof of insurance, and have no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 3 years; Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the engineering team to support engineering programming and material selection activities related to projects.
• Work with senior control technicians to perform controls startup activities on active construction sites.
• Perform graphic programming for customer control systems.
• Assist senior controls technicians with programming and configuration of Trane controllers.
• Work with Trane's electrical subcontractors to provide direction and support for control installations.
• Communicating with contractors, subcontractors and owners to discuss scope of project, budgets, performance, and close-out as well as with other team members concerning problems, obstacles, issues, and information needs.
