Job summary

Trane Technologies invites you to join a hands-on Technical Sales Internship designed to develop engineering, sales, and leadership skills across North America. The 12-week program challenges you to learn technical design, application, and the sale of HVAC systems and building controls while mentored by experienced engineers and account managers.

As an intern, you’ll collaborate with industry leaders, attend meetings, and gain exposure to a complete product line.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering for the entire duration of the summer internship.
• Must have completed at least their sophomore year to be eligible for internship.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Passion for continuous learning in technical fields.
• Some positions may be remote while others may require a hybrid or onsite assignment at facilities across North America.
• Possess a valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, and have no major traffic violations in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Sales Account Managers and customers.
• Understand design, application and sale of systems, controls, parts, and services for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
• Attend sales meetings, business functions, and customer meetings with mentors.
• Understand the steps sales engineers take from start to finish and be hands-on in those steps during the internship.
• Build relationships with customers as a daily point of contact in the solution-making process.
