Job summary

Progressive is seeking an auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the primary contact with customers, guiding the repair process from start to finish. You will manage your own claims inventory and collaborate with body shops to negotiate pricing and assess liability.

The role is field-based with a company car, requiring travel within the assigned geographic area; occasional office visits may be needed. Applicants must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Four years of relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Equivalent combos with an associate or bachelor degree plus the required experience.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance; comply with driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates and assess total loss evaluations.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops and manage claim documentation.
• Evaluate claim payments and determine validity of supplements.
• Document information per claims standards and local laws.
• Review and resolve claims appropriately within timelines.
