Job summary

Progressive Insurance is seeking an auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the primary contact with customers, directing the repair process from start to finish and negotiating with body shops to assess liability. You will manage your own workload in the field with a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail.

This field role includes a company car and frequent travel within the assigned area; occasional office reports may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of relevant work experience with one year in appraisal/estimatics or insurance.
• Alternate: Associate's degree with three years relevant experience including appraisal/estimatics or insurance.
• Alternate: Bachelor's degree with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; willingness to meet Progressive’s driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations and set timelines.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops.
• Document claim information and ensure compliance with standards and laws.
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments.
• Review and determine validity of supplement requests.
