Job summary

Progressive Insurance is seeking an auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the main contact with customers, directing and making decisions on the repair process from start to finish. You will manage your own inventory, work with body shops, and negotiate repair pricing while assessing liability.

This field position may require driving within your assigned area, with a company car provided and occasional office reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of relevant work experience in claims or insurance.
• Associate's degree with 3+ years experience, OR Bachelor's with 1 year experience.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Ability to work in field and office settings.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines
• Negotiate repair process with body shops
• Document information related to the claim and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments
• Review and determine validity of any supplement requests
