Job summary

Allstate is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to conduct on-site and virtual inspections, write estimates, and guide customers through repair or total loss processes. You’ll interact with body shops and service providers, and travel to customer locations as needed.

The role blends technical estimating, customer service, and field mobility in a fast-paced environment. A valid driver’s license and 3–5 years in auto collision estimation are preferred. Training and licensing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in auto collision estimating using CCC or Mitchell (3–5 years).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers.
• Detail-oriented with ability to write precise estimates.
• Comfort with technology and claims processing platforms.
• Excellent time management and organization; travel may be required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• The Customer Service Expert – lead with empathy and clarity in each claim.
• The Investigator – review damage and interpret policies to determine coverage.
• The Effective Communicator – connect with customers via calls, email, or video.
• The Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate settlements following legal standards.
• The Problem Solver – use tools and procedures to close claims quickly.
• The Recorder – maintain accurate, timely records in the claims system.
