Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks an Assistant Cultural Resources Technician 1 to support projects across the Southwestern region. The role involves identifying, excavating, and recording sites following federal/state standards.

Pre-employment drug testing is required and travel may be up to 100% on weekdays and some weekends. Responsibilities include field excavations, documenting findings, and maintaining field forms.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, Historic Preservation, American Studies, or related field.
• 1–2 years of field-related experience (excavation, note taking, field forms).
• Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety policies per GAI, client, and OSHA.
• Excavate, screen, and collect archaeological materials per standards.
• Identify and record archaeological features and structures within study areas.
• Photograph and map survey areas, locations, and resources.
• Complete field forms, notes, and sketches accurately.
